The venue truly remarkable, based on the highest part of the castles walls the line of sight is impressive. The waitering service as is the list of wines to complement what will be an explosion of tastes is remarkable. The quail of finished product can clearly only be archived by sourcing the very best quality ingredients.

We were invited to de Mondion in the Xara Palace.........our table on the balcony, with wonderful views. Probably one of the best dinners EVER! Superb wine list. Very we'll worth going to & a serious treat!

This restaurant is one of three at the Xara Palace Hotel in Mdina, Malta. Mdina is a unique experience in itself. The Silent City, leaves you speechless and, in the evening, it is even more astounding with its' narrow roads, palazzos and centuries of history. De Mondion is right at the top of this amazing 16th century palace and the view from its' outdoor area leaves you breathless. You can see half of the whole island while sitting and enjoying a sumptuous meal. The setting is incomparable, a truly unique experience. The food was excellent and the presentation superlative. It is not cheap and cannot be, as everything about this place oozes quality from every angle and quality is expensive. However, the end product fully justifies the price because it is extremely difficult to find such a perfect combination of class, quality and beauty. An impressive venue indeed and a perfect setting for a romantic dinner.

Well deserving of being a michelin star restaurant. The food and service were second to none. This restaurant is found in The Silent City and befits its name as being somewhere you can relax and have a lovely meal whilst looking out over the City of an evening. Very pretty views with all the lights shining.The waiters were very attentive to our needs and nothing was too much trouble.The food was excellent as was the wine.A definite place to go for friends and couples alike. Very exclusive as this is only a small restaurant (probably 25/30 covers). The best views of Malta can be had from here.

This was our second visit to the restaurant, and we had an amazing time. The staff, the food, and a view to die for. Try and go when the villages are having their festa and you will be see a display of fireworks sitting on the terrace on a beautiful warm evening. We will be returning to Malta next year and will make a point of returning to de mondion.

I have only just arrived home after such an incredible evening. I couldn't wait to write my review on de Mondion restaurant. Everything from the view, the atmosphere, the food, the wine and most importantly the service was top quality. Food got served quickly after ordering and although the place was absolutely packed, the staff there were more than happy to talk to us. I strongly recommend this place if you like great food along with great service. Compliments to the chef Kevin bonello, Joshua for his excellent input to our wine selection and Joseph for a stimulating and friendly conversation. Thank you!

It is actually worth traveling all the way to Malta to dine at this amazing restaurant. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted and escorted to the restaurant upstairs. The service staff's knowledge is unmatched and it is obvious that they are well-trained and take pride in providing their customers with an unforgettable experience. The culinary presentation and taste were equally impressive and thus deserving of an overall five-star rating. The restaurant's location and breath-taking views (if seated next to a window) make this a perfect location for a romantic spot. Highly recommend and would certainly come back.
